Confirmed Liverpool lineup vs. Spartak Moscow: 5 changes as Fab Four restored

Jurgen Klopp has made five changes to his Liverpool lineup for Wednesday night’s crucial Champions League clash with Spartak Moscow.

The Reds need at least a point from their final game of Group E to ensure their place in the last 16, with a win guaranteeing a first-placed finish.

They take on Spartak on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run, and back-to-back victories over Stoke City and Brighton, with the latter a convincing 5-1 away rout.

But the pressure will be on at Anfield, and Klopp has named a strong starting lineup in his bid to take the three points.

Loris Karius takes over from Simon Mignolet in goal, with Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klavan both returning to the back four alongside Dejan Lovren and Alberto Moreno.

In midfield, Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum are set to provide stability and support for Philippe Coutinho.

And Klopp has fielded his strongest front three, with top scorer Mohamed Salah and the well-rested Sadio Mane flanking his No. 9, Roberto Firmino.

Coutinho captains the side, with Mignolet, Jordan Henderson and James Milner all on the bench.

Though the visit of Everton on Sunday will be in the back of his mind, Klopp described this clash as “the game” in his pre-match press conference.

His selection for this all-important encounter underlines this, as Liverpool head out under the lights for their most important game of the season so far.
